About Us
Welcome to Sugar Swirls & Sprinkles. I’m Claire, a self-taught baker who began baking and decorating cakes from a very young age as my Mum will confess, she wasn’t the best baker and was more than happy for me to take over the kitchen to create something sweet for the family to enjoy (including my own birthday cakes).
Designing and creating cakes to compliment your special occasion and milestones including (but not limited to) birthdays, graduations, baby showers, gender reveals, weddings and unveilings allows me to bring your cake dreams to life. All our cakes, cupcakes, fudges, brownie, cookies and fillings are baked from scratch and decorations are handmade in our Council registered and approved home kitchen.

The classic and traditional
Vanilla
What else can we say? Sweet like ice-cream on a summers’ day. Pair it with a fruity, tangy or sweet filling or just add more vanilla
Lemon
A tang of lemon (or try lime) gives a feel of summer. Add lemon curd, passionfruit, coconut or even raspberry buttercream filling
Banana
A real classic from childhood. Pair with vanilla buttercream, salted caramel or add crunch with peanut brittle
A little bit decadent
Cookies and Cream
Vanilla cake with crunchy Oreo pieces filled with either vanilla or chocolate buttercream and more Oreo pieces
Hummingbird
Moist and delicious, filled with banana, crushed pineapple and walnuts. Choose from a lemon or vanilla buttercream

It’s easy! Fill in the enquiry form as much as you can and we’ll take it from there. The more notice and information you give, the better as dates do book up. If you have reference pictures please email them. We will not directly copy other cake artists work, instead personalising the cake to you
Because our council fully registered kitchen is in our home, we do not allow walk-ins at any time. If you have a cake pick up scheduled, we will send you our address. Personal consultations are by appointment only
When you have made your enquiry, we’ll send you some cake sizes and prices. You choose what suits you best and we’ll send you an invoice
A one third (1/3) non-refundable deposit is required within 7 days of acceptance of your written quote, to secure your order, then the remaining balance must be made no later than 10 days before your order is due. If you are making an order within 10 days of your event, full payment is required within 24 hours.
We only accept bank transfers and all the details will be on your invoice. Please let us know if you would like to pay in installments. As soon as your payment is received you will be sent a receipt. If you make a payment and you have not received a receipt within 48 hours, please get in touch
Every cake is different and personal so we don’t have a standard pricing list. Every cake is based on the time they take to create, therefore modelling sugar work such as animals and people figurines; sculpting and shaping cakes, all take time which is reflected in the cost. What we can tell you is that our full buttercream and ganache cakes (with piped buttercream and sprinkles) start from $120, our chocolate overload drip cakes start from $130 and themed cakes start from $190. We will provide you with a full written quote once we receive your enquiry form and work together to create the perfect cake for your event

All cake orders are to be picked up from our kitchen in Stokes Valley at an agreed time. Our weekend pickups are on Saturday mornings between 10-11am only. All other times are negotiable and subject to availability, including deliveries upon arrangement
Our kitchen works with gluten, wheat, dairy, eggs and nuts on a daily basis. We also use the same equipment, so there is always the risk of contamination, therefore we are unable to cater for severe intolerances and allergies. Please feel free to discuss your dietary requirements with us and we will outline the risks
Cakes have two main serving sizes – small finger portions (1” x 1” x height) and standard (1” x 2” x height). All our cakes have a minimum height of 4”. We will give you recommendations based on the standard size but it is up to you depending on your budget and how much you love cake. Also remember that not all your guests will eat cake
Everyone is different and have different tastes. Our main finish is a coloured white chocolate ganache, however some designs require fondant. We also offer a buttercream finish and we will provide you will full cake care guidelines before pickup on the best way to store your cake, especially during the warmer summer months. We will guide you on the best finish for your cake, taking into consideration your design ideas and personal tastes.
Please note, we do not offer fresh cream or cream cheese options due to their heat sensitivity
Oh yes! You can mix and match your cake and/or filing flavours to suit your taste buds (or indecision). We will guide you on the best way to arrange different flavours as some cakes stack better than others
We make cupcakes to compliment your theme or simply as a box of yummy sweet treats to enjoy or gift. We can even make personalised fondant toppers for them, and they come in standard size or minis.
We also offer other sweet treats such as macarons, brownie, fudge, sugar cookies and slices
Yes we do, subject to design. Sorry we do not send these around the country. Simply fill out the enquiry form with all the details. Please note that while our 3 dimensional toppers are made from fully edible ingredients, the internal structure may not be edible. You will be advised of this before pickup. It is your responsibility to advise your guests against consuming them.
They make wonderful keepsake pieces if kept out of direct sunlight and we can give you full instructions on their storage and care
